War and Peace
21 August 2017 | 150 Miles SE of Albany
9pm Monday 21st August 2017 (UTC+8 ) Slow it may have been but I have just managed to squeeze us into new time zone. Yesterday it was all War. Stand to at dawn. Survey the field of battle. Make last minute preparations. Hunker down below midst the crashing and the banging hoping none of the incoming has your name on it. Pop the head up occasionally into Meerkat Turret. Back down to safety. Today it is Peace. With just one reef in the main and the smallish jib L'Eau Commotion has handled the tight reach into winds of around 20 knots on the starboard bow with aplomb, allowing full recovery for the shell shocked and a little R&R - Rest and Reading. Ploughing through Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged can be heavy going and even a little depressing so when the finger inadvertently touched my iPad reader and brought to life that other Russian's War and Peace it was like the fresh new day outside.
