A Quiet Day
15 November 2017 | 130 Miles to Hierro
6:00pm Wednesday 15th November 2017 A very quiet but pleasant enough sail were it not for the lack of progress. The sea is almost flat so even when the wind got down to 2 or 3 knots the sails remained full with no unpleasant slatting but the heading was any which way except the one I wanted. A little overcast and barely enough wind to rotate the generator let alone put out power the desalinator ran only for a few hours in the sunny afternoon. On the bright side dropped the Halco #4 Barrasnatcher over the side, made a cup of coffee, had a Scotch Finger and hauled in a meal sized Dorade which, with a side dish of brown rice, I had for lunch.
