3:00pm Friday 9th February 2018 ( UTC-5 ) With the promise and perception of a further easing of the SSW breeze of around 20 knots the idea is to unfurl a little more jib to perhaps 70% and with the swell easing put in some desalination calisthenics. The course which is now WNW is all you could wish for: I think I may be away from the worst of the intensifying effects of the Andes but there is a lot of heavy going assured. I don't think there will be any great advantage in going further South but this may have to occur in strong North West winds. Quite a lot of weak sunshine with high clouds which nevertheless adds cheer and a little warmth to the cabin, now at 9C from an overnight 5C. I may not say it at every occasion but be assured whenever I get the little G'ding of an incoming email I love to read it at the first opportunity. Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
