The forecast says light and variable till around midnight but just now a faint breeze came in from what seemed to be the North but now I have the second reef out of the main and the staysail unfurled Iâm not so sure. I might appear to be heading a bit in the wrong direction but all the gurus ( there are four of them employed by PredictWind and all usually have there own opinion ) this time agree a low of around 992hpa could form off Concepcion and so as the winds develop North through East to South this Port tack should keep me clear of the centre. A few days back one of them was plugging for 50knots and then some so a few miles out of the direct course wonât be missed. Spoke to a Marshall Islands cargo ship this evening and I exchanged pleasantries with the Officer On Watch. I was pleased to confirm he had a good echo on both his radars as well as full details from my AIS. Also he could make out my masthead light from nearly four miles out which is all very reassuring . And todayâs treat? Barbecue Peanuts - Done to a turn!
