Well Friday has come and gone but no sign of The Man. By all the meteorologists reports he was in a blue funk and having no wish to join him I have kept well to the East of this beautiful and romantic island. I am serving a pleasant apprenticeship under a benign master as I gradually learn the ropes that will get me into one of the more pleasant Trades on this planet. With a dead flat sea a full main and as much of the jib as I dare to unfurl before the rip appears a gentle introduction to the South East Pacific Trades seems very much on the cards. For a fair swag of the afternoon we had a clear bright sun so I rigged the 80 Watt solar panel to help out the Hydrogenerator which with the speed often around the three or four knot mark appreciated that little extra push. Last night was again a very gentle sail and I took a picture of
the eastern sky about five minutes before sunrise. I hope it reflects the lovely sailing over the last day or so.
