Hard At It
31 August 2018 | 87 Miles NNE Norfolk Island ( GCS 813 )
8:00pm Friday 31st August 2018 ( UTC+11 )
Since I last wrote much of the time has been spent hard on the wind. The strength has been just over 20 knots which is on the upper end of being comfortable but with just a few clouds and no showers it never exceeded that. It has now eased to a pleasant 15 or so knots and with a course about 30 degrees to Starboard of the most direct route some real mileage towards goal has been accomplished. Another 24 hours of headwinds which will require a change of tack in the wee small hours should then open up a run of nearly a week of not too strong a beam reach. It is a shame I will not see Norfolk Island again but sightseeing has taken a back seat to seeing Australia again.
