This will be fairly short as it has been a long day. I eventually managed to poke LâEau Commotions bow over the line at 1:10 am Monday morning . It had taken four hours to go the last fifty yards so I arrived at Southport Yacht Club at 3:30am Monday morning and was too tired to sleep. Border Force arrived a little earlier than expected and soon completed the formalities and around 9:00am Bio Security turned up to do a complete inspection which we passed with no problems. My daughter Katherine and grandson Constantine had to sleep in the car as there was a problem booking into their hotel due to the late hour and Katherineâs suggestion that we all drive up to Brisbane for a well earned afternoon nap was adopted unanimously. Nick and Sue from the Ocean Cruising Club helped us put LâEau Commotion in her pen which required a little finesse with the Morse controls seized up from lack of use but it all went smoothly. I have my Optus phone and email back on line and even fitted a Sushi Lunch and a haircut AND a beard trim in no time flat. Tom offered to run me back down to Southport yesterday so we had a great time yarning about our airline and glider pilot pals but could not unseize the Morse controls. Had a great fillet steak at the Yacht Club for lunch with Tom and another superb T-Bone was shouted me by Ivan and Kathy and their friend Allison for dinner, again at the Southport Yacht Club. After a good nights sleep I puttered around to the fuel wharf and topped up the diesel ( $99 ) and then motored most of the way inside South and North Straddy and then sailed most of the way across the Bay in a nice light NorâEaster, arriving back in Scarborough Marina around 10pm. And yes I cooked up the Wagyu Sirloin so I have now had three steaks in three days to make up for having none in thirteen months. They were all perfect.
