There was absolutely no wind at all until 10am but after a very slow start and with the help of an outgoing tide made Peel Island by about 1pm. With the prospect of a nice run across the Bay and a light breeze just to Starboard it was time to try out my BiSymmetric which is just like my red asymmetric except there’s two of them for an area of 80 square metres. Rigging up the pole to starboard was simple as was attaching the sheets clipping on the furling mechanism and hosting the sail. A little tug on both sheets and the sails opened with a notable surge in speed. After a nice run at speeds of 6 to 8 knots the furling and talking down of the sail was easily done - so much easier than a spinnaker even with a sock. I am now anchored off the entrance channel and depending on the wind I may have to get a tow in to the harbour in the morning.
