John Brooks, the WSSRC Official Starter, dropped by in the morning for the scruitineering and paper work for this record attempt and we were joined afterwards by his lovely wife Kaye for lunch at the Southport Yacht Club. The washing done I headed off in the afternoon to Woolies at Pacific Fair and splurged on extra rations of dried milk, dates and Buderim Naked Ginger. Apart from much appreciated fruit cakes and date loaves kindly cooked for me by many of friends I have eschewed much in the way of sweets and biscuits as when the going gets rough or I get lazy I have a tendency to overdo it in the sweets department. I have the information at hand for the Border Force inspection at 8am and all is good to go for an estimated start time at 12 noon from the Gold Coast Seaway.
