Border Force arrived bright and early and the formalities were soon concluded. David Lambourne who did extensive work on my mast, boom and rigging drove down from Manly in his luxurious runabout and so was able to take out my grandson Constantine and his parents Katherine and Andrew Lambros for a close by farewell at the Gold Coast Seaway. John Brooks of the World Sail Speed Record Council was on the transit of the North and South moll lights and timed me over the line 02:04:10 UTC 08/06/ 2019. The moderate Southerly eased and died around dusk but was soon replaced by an Easterly which hopefully will carry on for the next day or so but with the real chance of becoming becalmed.
