Sharp Squalls
28 June 2019 | 250 Miles South of Hopetoun, West Australia
Day 21 7:30pm Friday 28th June 2019 ( UTC+8 )
The change came through on schedule and though relatively mild initially as the cold front came in the squalls of light rain and occasional hail had the wind constantly varying between 18 and 36 knots so the staysail was furled to about half the area which made a good compromise with good speed and apparent wind 60 degrees on the Port bow. A bit lumpy to do the odd jobs but otherwise a satisfying day with the course to Cape Leeuwin laid. Thanks Steve for the info on the OCC article though my daughter Katherine was able to read it to me over the mobile network when I was ( too ) close to Montague Island. As far as circumnavigations go you could say I have completed two, one single handed and one occasionally with a crew of one and from Fiji home a crew of two.
