Day 22 8pm Saturday 29th June 2019 ( UTC+8 )
As could be expected and just as forecast a series of cold fronts continues with North Westerlies since lunch gradually building to 35 knots and gusting over 40. Once it gets a bit past 32 knots even the small amount of the staysail showing tends to make the yacht round up in the gusts with unpleasant flogging so this is now completely furled we are sort of hove to making around 2 to 3 knots but much more comfortable and more importantly not causing any fatigue damage. I am temporarily without an electric autopilot as a bolt came loose and the other fractured where it joins the steering quadrant. I have adequate spares and equipment to fix this but will wait for some calmer weather. In the meantime the Windpilot is doing just fine.
