Job List Getting Longer
30 June 2019 | 100 Miles SSW of Albany, West Australia
Day 23 8pm Sunday 30th June 2019 ( UTC+8 )
In moderating seas I am slowly ploughing North towards the coast near Albany with the promise of easing winds through the night. Still under double reefed main and well reefed staysail as every time I'm tempted to unfurl the staysail a little gust comes through. The forecast is for the average wind to drop below 25 knots by midnight and lots of stars indicate that the squalls may be not so fresh so will see after supper.
The wind speed and direction indicator has been becoming more erratic and is now kaput - I suspect the masthead unit is at fault. I may be able to rig up an alternative with older gear which does definitely not entail climbing the mast. In order jobs to do are probably Autopilot, Galley Fresh Water, Galley Salt Water and then Wind Indicator.
