03 July 2019 | 10 Miles South East of Cape Leeuwin
Day 26 8:30pm Wednesday 3rd July 2019 ( UTC+8 )
All things being equal we should cross the meridian of longitude of Cape Leeuwin light, which is now clearly visible on the Starboard bow, within the hour. I will send out an automated signal to this effect via Iridium. By keeping fairly close in I seem to have avoided the main South East going current and also am keeping clear of a bit of traffic. To avoid becoming one of the many hysteric wrecks noted on the chart brought about by a change in wind I am now running on autopilot which is set to follow a track so if any such change occurs the result will only be a mild flap and no histrionics. I was well reefed down to double reefed main and staysail earlier on but feeling just a bit too cautious I let out a little of the jib which just balanced the windpilot nicely; with the possibility of stronger winds before dawn I have now furled this away but we still making a comfortable six knots.
