The expert advice received unfortunately only proved my backup sender was kaput so there may still be a chance it is in the cabling but I donât hold out much hope. I have been putting the wind in my log off the instrument when it was going but from here on I will put in the forecast if it seems reasonably close. The wind was all over the place till around 10am but as I was trying some delicate soldering I only had the main up to steady the boat. Since noon with the jib up we have been averaging 7 knots, sometimes wth the Windpilot, otherwise the autopilot. I'm still working on the map output for the blog but the solution is at hand. If the wind steadies down tomorrow I might look at setting up the downhill rig.
