Day 42 8pm Friday 19th July 2019 ( UTC+6 )
Things were starting to get out of hand this morning with rising seas and lots of white caps so the yacht was eased into the breeze and the main lowered and snugged away with a few well placed sail ties. All the forecasts said thirty knots which would have been about right but of course there are lulls and at other times it is stronger so simple tasks round the galley often had me thrown around, but apart from a bit of bark missing no bruises. With just a small amount of jib to steady the course and the staysail, average speeds close to eight knots were often seen on the speedo. The wind may ease a little in the morning and go more to the East so I may just pole out the jib. Maybe.
