The fickle winds continue and even though we are 100 miles downwind of the next nearest Canary I'm pretty sure that's what is influencing the weather - the more precise ECMWF 9K shows the dreaded blue dead zone snaking towards us. This phenomena is well known and to be expected and about the only way to dodge it is to go right the way round the more windward island but you still have to come back in its shadow so it's doubtful if anything is to be gained. By going this slow it allowed a little Mahi Mahi to catch up and get caught in the recycling system practiced on L'Eau Commotion.
