Frying Flying Fish
06 October 2019 | 35 Miles North West Of Ilha De Santo Antao Cape Verde Islands
Day 120 1pm Sunday 6th October 2019 (UTC-2 )
Here is a picture of all 14 flying fish retrieved at 4am. I culled out the four smallest and still the ten left proved more than adequate for four meals. The largest was 32 cm long and was more than enough for one meal. I have no way of weighing but to give you an idea of their size the frypan is 25cm across. And yes Gavin you are spot on. They are delicious and not only are they the National dish of Barbados they also are dominant on the Coat Of Arms. If really use my imagination I could say I can just make out Santo Antao in the thick grey haze of Sahara Sand 35 miles away on the Port beam.
