The fan blades had a shaft boring of 5.5mm which I did not fill with epoxy. At the outside I drilled a hole of 4.5mm diameter and threaded through a 5mm machine screw which I snugged up inside the taper shaft. I then spun up the fan blade till snug, ran up the plain nut and locked it into position with a nyloc. A point of real interest is the amount of rust accumulated on the taper shaft after 20 hours immersion.
