Day 160 5pm Thursday 14th November 2019 ( UTC-3 )
An uncomfortable day has been spent running before winds averaging 35 knots with lulls and rain squalls. Quite a large swell has developed which is all a bit disorganised with the result LâEau Commotion is often tossed or slammed or running down the odd face with an unpleasant swerve at the bottom. Only just now is the wind easing though the confused sea remains and I will have to work out what is the best sail combination. None of this threatens the integrity of the ship but moving about on deck and cooking in the galley has to be done with care. Looking ahead into The Forties is the interesting part as the winds are likely to be very variable in intensity and strength with lots of headwinds, calms and two seperate occasions of fifty knots near The Falklands so the plan is to keep well to the West.
