Day187 3pm Wednesday 11th December 2019 ( UTC-5 )
Bright sunlight all morning had the batteries up and fresh so at noon the spare panel was put out and the Katadyn desalinator fired up. Despite weeks of not being used the froth and bubbles soon cleared and there it is murmuring away quietly to itself and using hardly any power. I still suspect the Starboard SS tank has a leak so I am just using the Port tank of 80 litres which is still holding a good reserve. The quartering breeze is easing from its 20 knots so through this morning the jib was gradually loosened with it now fully unfurled and the staysail put away. Maybe the reefed main should be let out but things are going just so sweetly at present Iâll look at that after the fresh headwinds forecast for tonight have passed and dare I say it things are then looking rosy for a swift run up to Crusoe.
