Day 198 3pm Sunday 22nd December 2019 ( UTC-5 )
Hopes for a week of brisk Trade Wind sailing are fading away as a large weak high threatens to settle over our intended route. Rather than try to climb above it which could entail many additional days of travel chances are being taken by taking the direct route West and hoping to handle the light and variables beneath and behind the High. The brisk easy sail of last night has gradually given way to a pleasant but slow four knots and no amount of sheet tweaking and sail setting can change this number in the gentle quartering breeze.
