There is a feeling in Fiji that Uesi, currently a category 2 Tropical Cyclone, will not increase in intensity. I can't pretend to understand the technicalities of the situation but by viewing the ICAO Satellite Composite you can see the former dense blue concentration near 17S 163E has split into two and looks a lot less menacing. In the meantime we appear to be clinging onto the extreme coattails of the South East feed which is giving us good mileage but can be a little uncomfortable in the lulls between the frequent but still benign squalls.
