We are now on the way to Fakarava after our first stop at a tropical Atoll, it was less than an hour and we are sad to have bailed out. The wind backed to the SE and our anchorage became a lee shore with 17 miles of fetch for the waves to build and there was no way we could stay. More on how cool the atolls are later but for now we are back at sea headed for Fakarava 175 miles SW All the other atolls between here and there are exposed to this wind pattern so we will have to give them a miss this time round. It was a great sail from Nuku Hiva and more on that later as well.
