Baja Haha 2010 and on to La Paz II

11 November 2010
After an overnight we were coming into Morro Bay when all the Raymarine electronics went dark. My iPhone Navionics GPS chart guided us in through the light fog and we spent a night side-tied to the Morro Bay Yacht Club dock. The problem was that the Raymarine techs who installed my equipment 18 months ago hadn't properly waterproofed the main battery connection--used only electricians tape! Ken discovered the hidden problem and re-wired, so we were good to go.

Departed Wednesday morning for an overnight to Santa Barbara via Point Conception which, fortunately, was not making rough seas about seven miles out. Got into Santa Barbara Harbor Thursday, visited my son Gavi, and I ran all over town getting belts and Racor filters. Santa Barbara Yacht Club let us side-tie on their small dock until the afternoon, when we again departed--this time for Marina Del Rey.
