Lemons Way

Continuing adventures, observations, and images.

Back to San Carlos

Arrived before dark with the sun going down behind the tetas. Snagged a room for a couple of nights at Hotel Marina Terra, kind of pricy but beats sleeping in my truck on this kind of windy, chilly night. Sailboat is on the hard awaiting a daytime low tide to launch and I've brought a few things to add on while it's waiting, namely the new prop and two large waterproof underwater blue led lights. I'm back at the Captains Club for dinner tonight after an absence of several weeks. Much has happened. I am divorced. It's kind of like I just returned from the sailing trip again, except I have a newly renovated sailboat rather than one in need of extensive refit. I'm not broke, I have a decent law practice going, and, of course I've got two awesome kids. Overall much better off than in 2007, though much older too. I was 38 or 39 when I returned from sailing with Jake and Anne. Now I'm 50. Graying, but a lot wiser. I wouldn't trade the last 13 years for anything, but I'm glad to be where I am in life just the same. What will the future hold, we shall see.
