Adventuring with Alyson, Paul, and Xena in Montrose

On the final day at Alyson's house I awoke early, enjoyed some tea and cake on the patio at first light, then fell back to sleep until close to 9, when I received a call from the kids in their way to swim team. I had coffee with Alyson then worked until early afternoon, after which we geared up and traveled deep into a mountain forest about an hour or more from town and then went further up the mountain road paired on atvs. It was a blast and such a feast for the senses. Scenery and landscape that reminded me of Denali. When we arrived back to Montrose we stopped at a self car wash and spent like 30 minutes and probably $20 pressure washing the trucks, trailers, and ATVs, which were caked in hard mud. What a great time and experience. This whole trip has been so unexpectedly fun, compelling, and interestesting; far more so than I imagined driving into town and in my first few hours. What a wonderful opportunity to step back into Alyson and some of her family's lives for a few days. I start the journey back to Tucson tomorrow.
