I specifically planned to arrive in San Diego to exchange the children on the 5th, after the 4th of July. I did this to avoid the crowds and craziness here. However, most of my extended family was leaving today so I came early. Glad I did. Enjoyed time with my siblings and some of their kids, as well as my parents. It was a particular joy and blessing to be together last night for fireworks. My folks' condo is situated such that we had a perfect view of the fireworks from my parents' place. Already family is departing, and I'm looking forward to another block with the kids. It was this time last year things really started and we have come a long, long way since then. Safe travels to all those heading back home and may the coming year bring health, happiness, peace, and purpose.
