A little motor excursion

I'm pleased to report OZ and I finally made it back on the water this morning before the wind kicked up. I ran her through her paces, meaning I incrementally ran the 25 hp diesel up to red line, keeping it there for quite some time without reaching 200 degrees or anything like an overheat alarm. Top speed 6.5 knots. Fast cruise 5.5. Long range cruise 5 nautical miles per hour. For the economy it is more than adequate, but I would have gone larger. It is well tuned to the new prop, maximizing thrust but not overheating this little beast of a marine engine, like it used to. The only part that didn't work was the wind speed indicator. I suspect the sensor on the instrument at the top of the mast has become disconnected or something. Thankfully the capable folks here can likely make it right again. OZ has come a long way from the memoriabalia filled boat we purchased from that kind gentleman. It is nearly ready to further explore the sea of Cortez, or just the bays and coves around the local area. It doesn't really matter.
