Another five day block with the kids came to an end and after taking a long walk, a nap, and then relaxing in bed most of the day, I went out and joined my mother for a beverage and appetizers at her club. We enjoyed each other's company and reminisced while the last of the fading light worked its way down the mountainside. He really just wanted to be with her and I agree and accept that. To be with someone who only really wants to be with you and only you... I've never known this and don't expect to. Some of us get to experience a true love. Some have adventure and pretty pictures. Some have riches. Some have health. Some have understanding and peace. Some have talent. Some are good looking. Some are otherwise lucky. Most of us are a conglomeration of these things, more or less. I am the unwitting beneficiary of a rare, true love that existed between my parents. The enormous energy produced from their love sustains us even after the physical presence is gone. That's the power of love. Thanks, Mom and Dad.
