Settling into the neighborhood

Enjoyed my fourth night in the little Q2 casita at Loma Del Mar in San Carlos. Life is pretty good up here on the margarita deck enjoying coffee in the morning sun. Yesterday I went sailing with Lou and Ingrid on their sister sailboat to my OZ, Trig. I've been on their boat at dock, but never on the water. There was a growing breeze as we departed. We were going fine on just their regular sized headsail. When Lou ordered the main raised I was scared we were going to get over powered, as has happened on my boat more than once. I soon realized this guy has a true lifetime of varied sailing experience. He handles our 15,000 pound yacht like a dinghy. No fear, just relaxation and enjoyment. Soon we were all relaxed and enjoying a great sail out into a rather chunky but doable Sea of Cortez morning. Cascade 36s are built like tanks and it ate up the chop. By the time we turned around to head back, we were so far we could have made it practically to Guaymas in one tack. We were all having a blast and it was one of those sailing days where we truly appreciated sailing in the sea. We agreed in another circumstance we would just keep going across the to the other side, then watched as a boat in the distance went on and did just that. By the time we arrived back at dock in the early afternoon, I saw that Manuel and his crew had assembled my dinghy and attached the new rigging I brought down so it could hang from the back of the boat on the davits again. Today's weather is forecast to be calm and I'm hoping we can buddy boat out to farside this afternoon for a happy hour and dinner sunset cruise. Manuel and his crew came by the house late yesterday to get started with some of the projects I need help on to get this place in shipshape. Finally putting the two mezuzahs removed from B2 back into service, among many other little things. Other than a replacement mattress for the bed up in the 5th wheel section of the trailer, there's really not a whole lot of big projects left to do. It came practically turnkey. Of course, being me, I have a few improvements in mind that will make Q2 even more comfortable and enjoyable for whom ever may find their way up here. Soon it will be time for a morning hike around the neighborhood, then maybe to the Saturday market. There are so many quirky, fun, houses in this neighborhood, and it's still developing. Does anyone actually read this far, well, if you do, and if you care, the bottom photo of the truck is the water tanker that comes to the neighborhood regularly to fill a huge reservoir at the top of the neighborhood that is used for non-drinking water in the homes and landscapes. Some people have spectacular trees and gardens, and the neighborhood maintains beautiful common areas and pathways. The water is metered at each home and a bill is sent to members for their usage. Same for electricity. Definitely a legit place to retire and/or have an efficient little casita in Mexico by the sea. Some people in this neighborhood appear to have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars building and improving their homes. I'm just in it for the price of a modest car, even though I really could have used a new truck instead. This just kind of fell in my lap by circumstance, and I took advantage of it when I had the chance, kind of like how we acquired OZ.
