Lemons Way

Exploring Beaufort, NC

I was walking along front street with the dogs and watching the lines of people waiting for boats to visit the outer banks. I asked around and it turns out North Carolina's cruising crown jewel is a 1/2 day trip north along the Atlantic coast from this here spot. So I purchase a North Carolina cruising guide and a set of charts for the state and off I go. To the kind person who wrote a recent comment recommending I visit Cape Lookout, - thank you. Before that, there is this huge park just constructed next to the Town Creek anchorage and I took the dogs to walk there off leash in the morning and in the afternoon today. Evidently it was constructed as a home for old fashioned tall ships. They haven't arrived yet. Little Dreamer is not exactly a tall ship, but she has been around, from Martini cove in San Carlos to Oriental, NC. Now the dogs are crashed out on deck. I've got a picture of my two damp canine companions as they sleep off today's exercise in a later post.
