We're off!

Cheryl's Notes:
Sunday proved to be a wash out for us, literally. We awoke and found that the cold front had not arrived yet. The sky grew darker all morning. Two of our fellow boaters decided to leave anyway. They had barely passed the last channel marker out of the marina when the rain started and the wind kicked up. We were in no hurry to leave, so we hunkered down for the day and John watched some football. Go Vikings.
We woke early this morning, thanks to the time change, and started to check the weather. We had a chance of mist and some winds, but nothing bad. We decided to head out. We had a very uneventful cruise down the Neuse River, and entered Adams Creek. Once we entered the creek, the winds died down and we were joined by quite a few other boats. Suddenly, the boat ahead of us veered sharply to port. What? As we looked to the boat's starboard side, we noticed a deer swimming across the creek. By the time we came abreast, he had made it to shore. About four miles farther south, we cruised through a big pod of gray dolphins. Again, they proved pretty elusive to our camera.
We are now anchored in front of Beaufort, NC. We will spend the night here and then, pending weather, head farther south tomorrow. And so begins our journey.
John's Notes:
Everything seems to be working so I really don't have much to add. We are anchored very close to other boats. You have no choice. We have been anchored for about a half hour and I am still keeping a close watch. I only have a 5 to 1 scope set and I don't think I can let out much more rode. Will just have to wait and see.
