Short day

05 November 2009 | Carolina Beach, NC
John and Cheryl
Cheryl's Notes:

We had a short day today. We moved from Wrightsville Beach to Carolina Beach. We followed Scandia and met up with Dave and Beth on Grateful Attitudes. Arnie on Scandia had an issue with his dinghy. One of the tubes was deflated. John and Dave helped him find and patch a hole in the tube. Then, Bev had us all for potluck supper on Scandia. Grateful Attitudes has decided to go off shore from the Cape Fear River down to Charleston. We wanted to stay inside and stop at Myrtle Beach, and Arnie has an appointment in Charleston, but not until Tuesday and he didn't want to get there too soon. So, we will follow Scandia again tomorrow and bow to their superior knowledge and experience.

All in all, it was another beautiful day in paradise.

John's Notes:

Next time we are in Carolina Beach, I think we will stay for a day or so. Looks like a quaint place. We are making as many stops as possible on this trip so that we can experience many places and anchorages. That will give us more direct local information when we make other trips south. When we listen to other cruisers that have made this trip dozens of times they compare notes about different towns and anchorages. We have nothing to offer in these conversations but soak up the information like a sponge.
