Back into the Atlantic

Cheryl's Notes:
Yesterday morning we went into the US Customs and Immigration office at the Port of Palm Beach. Yea, they cleared us to enter and stay in the US. We thought we might have to call John's sister to run interference for us. After, we moved up to the north end of Lake Worth. The north end has better holding and no current for a better night sleep. We set the hook and dropped the dinghy for a ride to shore. Our first stop was Publix. What a great country we live in. You can go into a store and they have everything that you need, and a lot more that you don't. You don't have to wait a week for the provision boat to arrive. After shopping, we went to an Irish sports bar to have dinner with Jim and Leslie of Just Limin. Another great time with two great people. We had a full menu to select from and Leslie and I were thrilled that we didn't have to do dishes in a gallon or less of water.
This morning we left Lake Worth trying to head up the Intercoastal for anchorage by Jenson Beach. We found out that the Parker Bridge right off of Lake Worth was going to be closed off and on all day for construction. Decision time. Do we wait around all day for a bridge opening or go back on the outside and up the coastline. We decided to head offshore again. What a difference in weather. We had only 2-4 foot seas and wind at 15-20 out of the NNW. While not a smooth calm day, it was nothing compared to what we faced on our arrival on Sunday. We made it safely to our anchorage and are ready for another night of easy sleeping. Tomorrow we will head up the Intercoastal for Vero Beach and a few days of R&R and laundry.
John's Notes:
Today is the type of day that Leprechaun was made for. The only thing that could have been better would have been if the winds were actually out of the west as had been predicted. They were NNW and the seas were a foot or two more than expected. We did have a great sail though. We were running a constant 8+kts.
Amazingly, we didn't have any issues with the windless today. I have every part of my body crossed in hopes that it will stay that way for another 820 miles.
Good to be back in the land of fresh fruits and vegetables.
