Cribbage time

John and Cheryl
Cheryl's Notes:
We left this morning about two hours before high tide. This got us to a section in the Estherville Minim Creek at high tide. We found some skinny water there on the way down, and decided to plan accordingly. Went through with nothing less than 15 feet. Good call. Our biggest excitement all day was the flies. Now, back home we have deer flies and horse flies, but these bugs were like Clydesdales. They were huge! The rest of the day was uneventful and were anchored by 1:15 p.m. We are anchored just north of Georgetown behind Butler Island. Our plan for tomorrow is to ride the tide up to Barefoot Landing and do some more shopping for my outfit for Megan's wedding. So far I have bought a dress in Fort Lauderdale, shoes in South Beach and a pashima in Charleston. I am still missing a really cute bag and some jewelry. John is convinced that I will arrive home in the Twin Cities and decide to start all over with a different outfit. Men just don't understand us.
Being that we anchored so early today, I had to challenge John to a cribbage match. I was feeling really confident today. Good move on my part. I not only beat him both games, but also skunked him both games. I was amazing. I have never had such big hands in my life. I actually had a 24 and a 21 hand in the same game. When you're hot, you're hot.
John's Notes:
Not sure I want to talk about the winter Cruisers Cribbage Challenge. I have witnessed my father playing my grandfather and my father playing Debbie's grandfather, Big Jim Mahan. Never have I seen hands in back to back games that came anywhere near the hands that Cheryl had today. Just remember, it ain't over till it's over.
On another note. We did our semi-weekly maintenance on the windless today. We have taken that thing apart so many time that all we have to do is bring a screwdriver near it and it disassembles itself. Only needs to keep working for another week before we order repair parts.
