Dredging along

Cheryl's Notes:
Left Barefoot Landing and headed north again. This time we made it through the Rockpile without anything going bump under the boat. We had to time our departure to coincide with an opening with the Sunset Beach Bridge. It is the only pontoon bridge on the ICW. It only opens on the hour and will not open at low tide. We made the opening with minutes to spare. Then we had to navigate through several bad inlet areas. But, we checked Skipper Bob's website while in Barefoot Landing and found that all but one had been recently dredged, and dredging was in process on the last one. We made it past the dredging equipment with some skinny water, but the rest of the trip was smooth sailing.
My cold has gotten worse again. By afternoon, the coughing gets really bad. By suppertime I feel really dragged out. Oh well, we are getting a later start tomorrow morning so I can sleep in a little bit.
John's Notes:
Again, nothing exciting to report today. We did pass a tug/barge/dredge operation and I tried calling them on CH 13 to find out their intentions and how they wanted me to pass. Made several attempts and finally switched back to CH 16 and called again. Tug captain said that he had tried calling me on CH 16 because most sailors don't have a clue about bridge-to-bridge communications and etiquette. So much for being more knowledgeable than the average sailor, I guess.
