Our grand plan to slide under the low coming east to west and pick up southeast winds came to an abrupt halt yesterday afternoon as the wind went directly east, the direction we were supposed to be sailing (or motoring in our case). So we started tacking! The OVNI really does not go to weather well as some of you (and Don Jonsson I am thinking of you) know well. But, we were able to sail due north and God knows we have a lot of north to get in yet. Less than twelve hours later the wind backed to the north and we tacked over once again to head east. Now, the wind is veering east again! Attu is playing hard to get. Meantime, the two gentlemen on board are not happy about losing their status. "Gentlemen don't sail to weather".
