A tear in my eye

Rig check in the afternoon spotted a small tear in the shoulder of the spinnaker. Bringing this to everyone's attention brought a bit more disaster. The sail collapsed, caught on the spreader tip (caused the tear in the first place) and made a small hole into a half meter by 3/4 meter tear. The sail was dropped and is undergoing a patch job.

Meanwhile, we are making do with the Code 0, which really is a big compromise for deep downwind work. So, I am heading deep south into the 14N area to try and find more wind and wind with a better angle. Here's to good luck.

Changed time again yesterday and everyone is becoming a bit haggard as the days draw on and the watch schedule keeps on rotating. Maybe its time for movie night.

Now that we are back on the Code 0 subject, the Facnor is furling beautifully without the ratchet mechanism. POS. (figure it out)

Thanks,
