Schooner Liberty in Key West, FL

20 February 2010 | Key West
Philip
We arrived back in the USA on Thursday morning at 4am, after a long bash to windward from the western tip of Cuba, in gale force winds and big seas. It has taken a day or so to settle down, get cleared in, and move to a slip in Key West Bight Marina. Schooner Liberty is some what of a celebrity here, having spent 15 years in the charter business from this very location. We have had many people stop by, and visit, encouraged to see her "home again".

Right now, our priority for the day to to have a welder, repair our steering gear, and then we hope to depart later today for Miami.

Keep an eye on the blog, for some stories of our trip. For now know, that it was a very successful mission, delivering much needed supplies to multiple organizations in Haiti, and lots of interest in us doing a return trip.

The picture shows us offloading supplies on the dock in Jacmel, Haiti.
