The regatta has been going on for the past two weeks with lots of activities; sailboat races, scavenger hunt, coconut races, bocce ball, volleyball, trivial pursuit, texas holdem,
and lots of others. Nick and I played in the beach golf tournament this week. It was held on the beach at the St Francis Resort on Stocking Island. Our friend Ivan on the sloop Moira was in charge and talked us into playing even though we aren't golfers. The course consisted of nine holes. The holes were made up of various boat and beach items; various buckets, a milk crate, a life ring, trenches dug in the sand, circles of seaweed and other beach junk.
Each player was given two balls and if you lost both in the water or the bushes you were out. Luckily neither of us lost ours. The par for the course was 36; Nick got a 30 including a hole in one and I got a 32. Not exactly Tiger Woods but not bad either. I thought I did good just by not hitting mine into the ocean. We had lots of fun and now Nick is hooked and wants to start golfing when we get home. The regatta wraps up this weekend with an awards ceremony followed by a beach dance at the Chat n Chill Friday night and a variety show Saturday night. The weather continues to be windy with another front expected this weekend. We want to leave Georgetown soon if the fronts will slow down so that we can spend some time in the Exuma Park area enjoying the snorkeling. We haven't been in the water as much as usual due to the weather and Nick is getting bored because thats his favorite thing to do.
Hopefully spring is on the way.
