Finally in Bahamas

19 February 2017
Left Marathon on Friday 2/17 and moved to Rodriguez Key. Left there at 7 am and crossed Gulf Stream. Not much wind but had about a 2 foot swell in the apex of the stream. Made it onto Bahamas Banks through Gun Cay/Cat Cay cut at 4 pm. Continued on all night and made it to Nassau at daybreak. Banks were not bad but the Tongue of the Ocean off Chub Cay also had big swells but we made good time. Had to wait off Nassau for a cruise ship to leave port before we could enter the harbor. We are at Nassau Yacht Haven where we cleared in customs. The customs people were very nice and efficient. We are now officially in the Bahamas. Plan to leave tomorrow for the Exumas.

Picture above is in the gulf stream. One of the many ships we passed. Have to keep a close watch and stay out of their way, they are much bigger than us.
