Update
02 April 2017
We stayed at Blackpoint for about a week to ride out another northern blow. Once the winds finally subsided we were ready to move on. Lobster season closes on April 1 and we had not had any luck finding any on the few days the weather was good enough to go out snorkeling so with a week of good weather predicted we decided it was now or never to get our fill of lobster. We left Blackpoint along with the trawler Osprey (Steve and Deidra from Texas) and headed to the southern part of Great Guana Cay. We found a nice anchorage and after spending a while at the beach it was time to go after the lobster. This time luck was on our side and between David and Steve we got a 2 day total of 10. We had a nice couple of meals and stuffed ourselves and even had extra left over for lobster salad.
After 2 days we moved a little bit further down to Oven Rock. We hiked up the hill on a narrow rocky path looking for a cave we had heard about. After a few wrong turns we finally found it and spent some time exploring it.
Next we moved on down to Little Farmers Cay. We anchored in front of Ty's Restaurant. Went in for a late lunch. The lobster was good but after eating it for several days we were ready for a cheeseburger in paradise. Ty's was a beautiful spot and the burger was good. We actually went back later for a drink and to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the wind and current picked up during the night and we rocked and rolled all night so the next morning we picked up and moved to the other side of Little Farmers and took a mooring from the Farmer's Cay Yacht Club. Went
back to Ty's for lunch with Osprey, then toured the island. The local fishermen feed the rays and sea turtles and have them trained to come when called. After seeing the turtles we walked around some more and then went to the Ocean Cabin for a late afternoon drink.
The next morning we headed down to Musha Cay. Musha is owned by David Copperfield . It is a very beautiful island but unfortunatley is a private resort. You can stay at the resort for about $30,000 per day. The main reason we went there was to snorkel the underwater sculpture that is located at the end of Rudder Cut Cay (next door to Musha). It is a sculpture of a piano with a mermaid. The current was pretty bad so we didn't spend much time snorkeling but did get to see it.
We are now back in Blackpoint. This is where we come to do laundry, use the internet, get rid of garbage, etc. We will be hanging out between here and Staniel Cay for the next few weeks waiting on 2 of my sisters and my cousin who are coming down for a visit. Looking forward to their visit.
