Meganisi
04 September 2016
We motor sailed down to the island of Meganisi and chose to anchor in one of the small bays at the north east. Because the water is so deep you have to drop anchor and then back up to the rocks and tie ropes ashore - something we haven't quite perfected the art of yet!
But we found a good sheltered spot and enjoyed 2 days there. The sunrise in the morning was particularly beautiful, so peaceful with just a few hardy early morning swimmers about.
We can't get over the number of boats around - there are still lots of charter and flotilla boats about despite it being September. We understand that it's particularly crowded now because some of the bigger charter companies have relocated here from places like Turkey and the Aegian islands due to the political unrest and refugee crisis.
