Day 9 Saturday, May 29, 2021
Docked River Dunes Marina, Oriental, NC
'911 what is your emergency?' I hear somewhere down in the wiring closet, where my arm is stuck in some wires. Well, my arm is not trapped and I think Susan is playing a joke on me while I'm in this twisted position, trying to pull out some no longer needed wires. '911 what is your emergency?' comes seemingly further down in the mass of wires. I pull my arm out to find my Apple Watch has detected that I'm having an emergency and has actually dialed 911! YIKES! I excuse myself to the 911 operator and tell her there is no emergency. My watch had called by mistake. I have had the watch think I have fallen and asked me that when I was splitting wood with an ax.. But this time my arm and concentration were on tracing wires and the iWatch must have thought I was working too hard.
Today is WINDY. The wind has been howling all day long. Susan and I continued organizing the boat for the season and vacuuming up a more of those dead bugs from our invasion a few nights ago. The boat is starting to come together and feel organized and comfortable.
We did go ashore and have a nice breakfast at the marina restaurant. I had a meat lovers omelet that I absolutely could not finish. Susan had a yogurt with lots of fruit that she couldn't finish either. We are headed up to another food event tonight. River Dunes is one of two of our favorite marinas on the entire ICW from Portsmouth to the Keys. Wonderful dock team. They know how to tie a boat up properly. The clubhouse, chef and boaters' lounge are all first class. We ate again with the friends we met last night. It was a closed street event and the staff and food were great. Tonight was ribs, shish kabobs, all kinds of vegetable dishes, lemon cake and banana pudding. All great.
We went to some new friends' boat for a glass of wine after dinner. When lightning started, we left for Liquid Therapy before the shower began .
Today's picture is the moon rising from a couple of nights ago.
