The fun times aboard Liquid Therapy. With - Susan and Brooke Smith

Docked - Manteo Waterfront Marina

October 20, 2023

We decided to get up and go to the local coffee shop for breakfast. It had rained and was cloudy and chilly when we stepped out of Liquid Therapy to walk to the coffee shop. Everything is very close by to the waterfront in Manteo. Susan got a regular coffee and me a latte. They roast their own beans at the coffee shop and it was quite lively with a wall full of prayers you could write and pin to the wall. In this world lots of prayers are needed. My latte was great and we also split a lemon blueberry cinnamon bun.

We decided to take a walk and noticed a girl in a bikini on a paddle board . It’s early in the morning. It’s 64º. Uh, then I notice two guys in a kayak and one in another giving the girl instructions as they are filming a movie, TV series or Netflix. Who knows? Then the drone operator shows up in front of our boat and is having communication problems with the camera man and director. Did I mention it’s 64º? Yes! She looks comfortable like it’s mid 80s in her bikini. So, is this Madelyn Cline or Madison Bailey from the the Netflix series THE OUTER BANKS? I’m pretty sure it’s Madelyn.

What else did we do today. Just some cleaning of the hull where a fender had left a mark. That’s weird because we’ve never had a fender leave a mark. We were gone when T.S Opelia came through and apparently the boat had that fender protect the hull but picked up creosote from the marina piling. That must be a really old piling as creosote hasn’t been used in years. Soft-scrub and elbow grease got most of it off. Our 1979 hull has many battle scars from former owners. Oh, a few from me too.

I adjusted all the lines again as the wind is supposed to pick up tonight. It’s been a gentle breeze out of the south all day. As I’m typing this at 11:30PM we just got hit with a strong gust and then silence. I guess it’s gonna be picking up throughout the night. I’m checking the lines and fenders positions one more time and then crawling into bed.

Today’s picture is Madelyn on her paddle board with her cameramen in kayaks.
