Fitting Out Time Again!
15 February 2011 • Ardfern
Now that Ju is back home from her travels and slowly re-acclimatising to a Scottish February, it is time to get Little Else out of the water and do all the necessary jobs to get her ready for a new season's sailing. We'll be polishing her topsides, antifouling her hull, replacing her zinc anode and the through-hull transducer for the log, which Lee removed as it was seriously under-reading. It probably just needs recalibrating, but we'll find that out later, when she's back in the water. We're also going to take our liferaft, 'Precious Little Else'*, to Ocean Safety in Port Glasgow to see it inflated, and leave it with them to service and repack. It's all go when the fitting-out season arrives!
Plans for this season's sailing involve going north, eventually to the Orkneys, and getting to know Scottish waters again.
*We called her Precious Little Else as if we ever had to take to her there would have been precious little else left of our yacht!
This is a photo of Little Else on her mooring in Loch Craignish during the December snows. Note the bimini!
