Watch this space for a complete change of direction for this blog. We now live in Orkney, quite near Stromness, and have a view from our window of the Hall of Clestrain. That is where, in 1813, the Arctic explorer John Rae was born. So I joined the John Rae Society to find out more, having seen the excellent display about him in the Stromness Museum.
