Ness of Brodgar dig: Very busy archaeologists as the digging season is quite short here. Site massed by tourists, this is the easiest active site of the three for them (us) to visit.
Massive communal hall being excavated, surrounded by four hundred shinbones of cattle, all from the same date. Oooo! And the first evidence of thin stone tiles being used as a roof, instead of turf or thatch.
