Heading up the St. Clair River
08 August 2015
On Saturday, August 8th, we left our home port at 7AM in light rain and even lighter wind heading for Sarnia, ON as our jumping off point into Lake Huron. We ended up motoring across Lake St. Clair at 5.5 knots. It took us 3 hours to reach the cut-off for the St. Clair River. We were a little worried about travelling since part of the river was reported to be closed due to offshore power boat races. But Aaron called Canada Coast Guard who assured us that the Canadian side of the river was open - the race was to take place on the U.S. side only. We had several super speedy offshore boats pass us on the trip up to Sarnia!
